The MMO Report Lineage Shutdown and Lion's Arch Trailer

Today's MMO Report, sadly, suffers from a distinct lack of Casey Schreiner. However, all is well as G4's Morgan Webb has stepped up to the plate to fill in for Casey as the 30th anniversary of his birthday is celebrated.

The first order of business is the announcement that NCSoft will be shutting down the North American Lineage servers on June 29th. All accounts that were inactive for the game, which was released in 2013, have been activated and the game will be free to play until the servers shut down.

Then, we'll move on to the much-anticipated Guild Wars 2 and the confirmation that Lion's Arch, a social hub featured in the original game, will be making its return in Guild Wars 2. Be sure to check our review of the unveiling of the fly-through trailer and some insightful commentary from our own Rubi Bayer.

Next up is some screen-time for Minecraft. Although the game isn't strictly an MMO however, it's evident that Minecraft has enjoyed immense popularity in the gaming world. Morgan reports that Minecraft creator Notch is contemplating hosting an event in Las Vegas launch party... or, a convention tentatively dated for November 11th.

Star Wars: The Old Republic's Sith Inquisitor made its trailer debut earlier this week. Morgan described the class as "the one character you don't want in an alleyway that is dark." It blends elements of spellcasters and stealth into a force-driven combination.

We also have a fly-through of the Ether Saga Odyssey's beginning zones, courtesy of Perfect World Entertainment. The MMO was launched in the last month and is free to play.
